**Ultraverse Prime** is based on Malibu Graphics’ Prime comic books. It is an interesting beat ’em up game that resembles **Streets of Rage**. The player is controlled by a thirteen-year-old boy named Kevin Green, who can be transformed into an adult thug after some secret experiments. Your mission is to rescue your girlfriend Kelly, who has been kidnapped by evil creatures. You are not only eliminating enemies but also destroying various bonuses – hearts that give you power-ups, stars that add points, weapons, etc. The game definitely doesn’t reach the level of **Streets of Rage** (there’s a certain sense of incompleteness to the project), but it’s still worth checking out what the developers have come up with.
Initially, **Ultraverse Prime** was prepared for the SNES (there was even a prototype somewhere), but they later changed their mind and the game was released solely for the Sega CD. This game was packaged together with **Microcosm**. The disk containing the **Ultraverse Prime** game also included an interview with the developers and a few comic books (that could be viewed).
