This legendary hack began development in 2005. The first playable version of the game was introduced on May 31, 2005, at the Sonic Hacking Contest 2005. In this version, the hack was quite different from the final release. There was no Spin Dash, Homing Attack, Super Peel-Out, or Light Dash. The level structure was changed only in the first act of Sunset Hill Zone, but the palette was altered across all levels. The music was also changed in every area. The first version of the game was released in November of that year and was not significantly different from the pre-release version. In 2006, the hack was presented at the Sonic Hacking Contest, and the full version 2.0 was released on June 16, 2006. This version included new abilities for characters like the Homing Attack and others. The final version 3.0 was released on June 30. Subsequently, in 2008, a decision was made to port the hack to the SEGA-CD platform. In the new version of the game, Tails and Knuckles were added as playable characters, and some areas had changed graphics. However, due to the project’s cancellation, version 4.0 was not completed, and therefore it contained some bugs and graphical errors that could hinder gameplay under specific conditions. Nonetheless, this beta version of the game was quite playable and successful for all characters. Version 4.0 was canceled in favor of developing version 5.0, which was set to include completely new special stages or entirely new graphics for Starry Night Zone. However, later on, an early build of hack version 5.0 was compiled by someone for free access. As a result, videos featuring the game began to appear online, quickly rising in search rankings and even making it to the “recommended videos” list. Gradually, the number of videos containing build 5.0 and leak links increased. This version of the game was mistakenly referred to as “final” by some, which only misled people. Rumors began to emerge that the development of the hack had been completely canceled; however, on August 21, 2014, Stealth, one of the creators of the hack, posted a message on the game’s official website expressing regret over the leaking of the early build. In 2011, he promoted the game and released a video stating that hack development was still ongoing. There was a feeling over time that the entire team had gathered and disbanded. A lot of time passed, many changes occurred in the lives of each participant, and the project, which was close to a major release, was in jeopardy. My highlights – the team no longer has active artists, level designers, or programmers; there’s no one left; just me. This bitter reality – the Megamix Team no longer exists… Nevertheless, the writer planned to prepare a hack for the latest and most accurate version. New content should be thought of and released as a bonus or separately. From that moment on, there was no further news about the hack, indicating that the development of a “clean” version had been abandoned.

**Conspiracy Island.** A wonderful place not bound by time. It has been 15 years since the first battles with Eggman. Since then, they have fought in various places, but Sonic has always won. Both have gained new allies and new enemies… Naturally, during this time, Sonic learned many new ways to fight against his main enemy. He uses his skills to stop the new diabolical plan again. Eggman returns to South Island hoping to obtain the powerful Chaos Emeralds and eventually takes a solid step to conquer the planet. Upon arriving at the island, he brings with him one of the Chaos Emeralds thought to be lost, thereby overturning the natural balance that had remained unchanged for decades. Others were trapped in an alternate dimension, where very few could enter and even fewer returned. When the blue hedgehog learns this, he returns to South Island with his two friends, Shadow and Mighty. The three go to South Island, each utilizing their own unique abilities.
