**Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Slayer** – A fantasy role-playing game that uses the rules of the second edition of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, featuring a first-person perspective. The 58-page guide immediately makes it clear that the developers are not joking around. Even if you are not familiar with the D&D universe, nothing can stop you from learning the rules, mastering the mechanics, and embarking on a journey. A distinctive feature of the game is the customizable dungeon generator for the castle; this means that every time a new game is started, new adventures are guaranteed, complete with relic hunting, encounters with eerie inhabitants, and a consistent atmosphere throughout. The flexibility of the settings allows you to choose the optimal complexity to avoid resorting to cheats and to enjoy the game more.
In Japan, the game was met with vague reception. On one hand, it is technically very advanced. All monsters are so coolly drawn and animated that, being essentially 2D, they appear completely three-dimensional from a distance. The large dungeons are atmospheric and not only allow for very precise control (perhaps due to the emulator’s condition?) but also encourage exploration.
True D&D fans may be disappointed by the limited set of parameters that can be selected before starting the game. These are the character’s standard attributes: Strength, Intelligence, Wisdom, Agility, Complexity, and Charisma. However, it is considered more successful than its predecessor (Deathkeep). Gender and personal attributes do not significantly affect the game. However, race (elf, half-elf, dwarf, gnome, halfling, human) allows you to choose a specific class for your character. In short – the game clearly deserves your attention, but it may seem boring for hardcore players; not everyone enjoys wandering through dark streets for hours, finding artifacts, regularly changing outfits, etc. Don’t forget to use the card feature.
