Despite many sequels emerging rapidly across various platforms, Shadow Dancer is the only true sequel to the original arcade Shinobi, as the game is nearly the same. It runs on Sega’s System 18 board; the biggest difference is a significant graphic upgrade from its predecessor. This is especially noticeable for the main character, who has undergone a harsh revision and now wears a cold white costume similar to that of Shinobi’s Revenge. This time, you play as Joe’s son, Hayate, unlike a few years ago.
