**Peregrine Falcons (PF Squad), Ikari Warriors, and Sparrows fleet are once again searching for General Morden and his army. The mission is to capture General Morden and prevent another coup attempt against the government. However, as soon as Morden is defeated, a strange army from the future comes to his aid. Now, they must once again face Morden and this time decisively end his plans.**
**Game Mode**
The game features seven missions and three difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, and Hard. Metal Slug 7 uses the Nintendo DS’s touchscreen as a map for the mission, making it easier for players to find prisoners, weapons, and vehicles. In the PSP version, this map was removed, but a multiplayer mode was added via Wi-Fi.
While the selected difficulty only changes the enemy’s speed and resistance, the rest of the game (scenarios, time, number of missions, and endings) remains the same, retaining its animations and attacks. The duration of each mission can be increased to 90 but cannot be reduced to 60. The ending is the same as in Metal Slug X.
**New Additions**
This title includes a new weapon called “Thunder Shot” (T) as well as three new vehicles: Slug Truck, Slug Gigant, and Heavy Armor.
**Characters**
– **Marco:** His default weapon (in Normal or Hard mode, an Assault Rifle at Easy level) doubles in power.
– **Tarama:** When having a Slug, the vehicle’s resistance and power are doubled, and Canon Vulcain’s firepower increases by 50%. He can also use Vulcan Fix to fire continuously in a single direction while moving.
– **Fio:** Starts each mission with an Assault Rifle (starts with a Heavy Assault Rifle in Easy mode). The ammunition count for special weapons is increased by 50%.
– **Eri:** Receives double the grenades when starting a mission or healing. She can also throw grenades in any direction.
– **Ralf:** Compensates for the lack of ammunition and grenades by doubling the power of close-combat attacks. He can perform a special attack called “Vulcan Punch” that inflicts heavy damage on all types of enemies. Additionally, he can make two shots before dying.
– **Clark:** Can use the “Argentinian Backbreaker” attack against all enemies (except enemy vehicles), and when performing this attack, he is immune to attacks. Executing this attack multiple times in a row can accumulate a lot of points.
– **Leona (through DLC in Metal Slug XX):** She is the strongest in close combat thanks to her “Moon Slash” attack, which disables all enemies and bullets, but this attack does not yield points. Additionally, the ammunition count for her special weapons and grenades is increased by 20%, and she retains special weapons when she dies (except for continuous use), and finally, the power of her weapons has also been increased.
