F1GP is not the best business card for Formula 1. The races are truly three-dimensional, but the graphics are primitive, especially with cars that display colorful square wheels and stands instead of spectators. Yes, there are generally all squares! The beginning of F1GP is impressive – great video clips, and although in Japanese, it has quite a high-quality menu. In the game itself, there’s a function for the car to be adjusted flexibly, and the replay isn’t that bad at the time.
I involuntarily remembered Virtua Racing. This old 3D Formula 1 simulator, despite having lower graphics, has more dynamism. In F1GP, you control a turtle. The roar of the engine is naturally recorded, but everything else is forgotten. Our “turtle” barely crawls, poorly aligns with the controls, and also slices through areas it shouldn’t. There’s neither smoke nor sparks flying from the car, and if you look at the wheels, it’s not always clear where the car is moving. To be honest, find yourself a more interesting game.
