**KomplonOyun** begins on March 14, 1968. The main character, Michael Shaw, recounts to his boss what has happened to him in the last few years, including how he and Alex Mason were captured by Cubans. In 1967, authorities organized an operation to release Mason and Shaw. The rescue operation involved Captain Patterson and Thomas Hayes, but they were inadequately informed. Mason and Shaw were sent to different prisons, and Shaw did not know where Alex was. A prisoner knew there was a radio in the prison and informed Michael. Choosing a moment, Shaw attacks the guard and takes his weapon. When Michael finds the radio, he contacts the rescue team several kilometers away. The show goes to the mountains, and the rescue team gets the helicopter and heads towards Michael. The rescue team picks Michael up and flies away. Shaw also mentions that Mason escaped on his own shortly afterward.
The game takes place in 1968. Michael talks about the objectives of his mission in Vietnam. His team was supposed to find a Soviet biological weapon (Nova-6). The group eliminates several Vietnamese soldiers, but they detect a tunnel. Captain Patterson orders Shaw to clear the tunnel. When Michael clears the tunnel, the squad reunites. One of the squad members, Yuri Raslov, shares his story about how he carried out his mission in Afghanistan.
On November 21, 1963, Soviet special forces went to Afghanistan to assassinate an effective official of the USSR and Afghanistan. When Yuri shot him from an SVD, a significant number of insurgents attacked the special forces. The fighting team advances towards the river and finds a boat. The special forces were sitting in the boat but left Yuri alone with a knife and a pair of grenades. Yuri enters a city where he finds the defensive Mason and Sergeant Jenkins (the insurgents thought they had killed an official). Rift helps an American and boards a truck with them.
The story returns to Vietnam. A helicopter was sent to the team to find a biological weapon. The helicopter progresses by destroying towers, boats, and convoys, but it is shot down. The crew sits on the boat and swims in the river. The team stayed in Vietnam for several weeks. Soon, the commander ordered Shaw to board the ship’s weapon to assist ground forces. The team decides to rest in the cabin and go on a mission in the evening. After eliminating several Vietnamese soldiers, they board a helicopter and head to destroy another Vietnamese base. After conducting an airstrike on the base, the team eliminates the surviving soldiers. In the meantime, Captain David Vance captures a Soviet soldier armed with biological weapons and defects to American troops.
The squad and the show are sent to the USSR. There, they were ordered to destroy the facility for the production of Nowy-6. When the show destroyed the facility, they were informed that a submarine with Novaya-6 was not far away, and they headed there. Michael went to the submarine and killed all the sailors, then planted explosives and began to progress among the remains of Soviet troops. When he emerged from the submarine, he was picked up by a team. As Michael evacuated in a helicopter, he watched the submarine explode.

– **Last Heli Out:** Due to the arrival of enemy reinforcements, the evacuation time has significantly reduced, and Shaw must catch the last helicopter in his area.
– **Stolen Wings:** David Vance pilots a stolen experimental aircraft and conducts dogfights over Vietnam.
